Alright. Officially switching to Tumblr.

It's the new project I started for 2013. A minimum of three bad drawings will be posted each week.

And check out:

For things that are equally shitty just in print form.

Small block, Small Edition

I've been getting a bit bored with the larger block, I took a short detour yesterday and did a small lino cut on a piece of scrap I dug up in my basement. Its really just a carved out ink sketch.

What, we have how much time?

Alright, my final semester of undergrad has begun. So, to the best of my knowledge, I need to hammer out some prints ASAP. I've decided to post some in process shots along the way which will eventually lead up to my "Grand Finale" of a post, my BFA show. (Yes, I know all of my countless followers are anxiously awaiting that day) Anyway, heres the first block of the semester . . . the buffalo.

Despite their physical resemblance to pigs and other terrestrial even-toed ungulates, their closest living relatives are cetaceans (whalesporpoises, etc.) from which they diverged about million years ago.The common ancestor of whales and hippos split from other even-toed ungulates around million years ago. The earliest known hippopotamus fossils, belonging to the genus Kenyapotamus in Africa, date to around million years ago.

Brain trust began as a term for a group of close advisors to a political candidate or incumbent, prized for their expertise in particular fields. The term is most associated with the group of advisors to Franklin Roosevelt during his presidential administration. More recently the use of the term has expanded to encompass any group of advisers to a decision maker, whether or not in politics.

Show at Art Dimensions, Friday Night!

Come check this out, it's going to be an amazing show! Good people and amazing prints.

The Infernal Method

“But first the notion that man has a body distinct from his soul is to be expunged; this I shall do, by printing in the infernal method…”
An art form whose roots lie in the notion of spreading ideas to the masses, and now accrediting to its more alternative approach to the art world, printmaking is on a contemporary resurgence.
Inspired by the esoteric symbolism of William Blake, THE INFERNAL METHOD is an exhibition showcasing a body of work by printmakers from across the United States that rely on the use of symbolism. Each piece selected has been chosen for its indistinct mystical representation. Some obscure and some direct, the viewer is invited to engage in the inspirations and admiration of this classic media.
Art Dimensions in honored to invite you to share in the gathering of works from these established and cutting edge artists the evening of September 30th. Accompanying the event will be live printing, prints for sale, and a very special in-gallery performance by local metal sensations Fister and RFT award winning best metal act, The Lion’s Daughter.
THE INFERNAL METHOD exhibition will be held at Art Dimensions Gallery Sept 30th. Opening begins at 6pm and runs until 1am with live music at 9pm. The exhibition will run until October 17th. Art Dimensions is located at 2720 Cherokee St. Saint Louis, Mo. 63118.
